Ayodhya's Shri Ram Airport to commence operations in next 15 days

In a significant development, Ayodhya's Shri Ram Airport is set to commence operations even before the consecration of the Shri Ram temple, currently under construction at the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram. Constructed at a cost of Rs 320 crore, the airport is poised to facilitate daily flights to New Delhi and three-day-a-week flights to Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with a fixed daily passenger capacity of 500. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister General VK Singh, visited Ayodhya to assess the progress and preparations for the airport.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) team has conducted a thorough inspection, with plans to initiate flights to Delhi and Ahmedabad within the next 15 days. Shriram Airport Director Vinod Kumar highlighted that the airport's runway and parking facilities are complete, and the building is in its final stages. Beautification work is also underway, and the airport expects to receive its license soon to kickstart flight operations. Indigo airline has already submitted its flight plan, indicating the readiness of the airline for the upcoming launch.

Built in two phases, featuring a 2200-meter-long and 45-meter-wide runway, allowing for easy landings even in foggy conditions.
